SYNOPSIS

Mother and Child

"What's it about?"Drama, Centered around three women: A 50-year-old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago, and an African American woman looking to adopt a child of her own.

USA Today: "Writer/director Rodrigo Garcia has fashioned a clear-eyed look at motherhood at all stages..."

Three women's lives share a common core: they have all been profoundly affected by adoption. Karen placed a baby for adoption at age 14 and has been haunted ever since by the daughter she never knew. Elizabeth grew up as an adopted child; she's a bright and ambitious lawyer, but a flinty loner in her personal life. Lucy is just embarking with her husband on the adoption odyssey, hoping for the opportunity to become parents.

Solitary Man

"What's it about?" Drama, A car magnate watches his personal and professional life hit the skids because of his business and romantic indiscretions.

Roger Ebert: "The film is all about Ben Kalman, but one of the strengths of Michael Douglas' performance is that he isn't playing a character. He's playing a character who is playing a character"...

Solitary Man tells the story of Ben Kalmen, a fifty-something New Yorker and former successful car dealer, who through his own bad choices lost his entire business. (Millennium Films)
