Lifetime Achievement Awards, 2011
The Broome County Arts Council's 8th Annual Heart of the Arts Award
Celebration is taking place at the Forum Theatre Recital Hall in downtown Binghamton,
beginning at 6:30pm, Thursday, September 29th. The winner of the 2011 Heart of the Arts
Award for Lifetime Achievement is master piano technician and piano tuner LANCE G. HILL
for his long-term contributions to the arts in Broome County. For their more recent contributions,
this year's Heart of the Arts Award honorees are Roberson Museum Executive Director
TERRY McDONALD, Tri-Cities Opera General Director REED SMITH and a joint award to actors
JUDY McMAHON and HEIDI WEEKS, co-founders of the theatrical group S.T.A.R., Southern Tier Actors Read.
Actor/photographer Bill Gorman, who won the Heart of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009,
is hosting this year's Celebration which is free, open to the public, and will feature tribute
performances by notable, local personalities.
