PERFORMANCE AND MASTER CLASS BY DUO MONTAGNARD
A performance and master class by Duo Montagnard (Joseph Murphy, saxophone and Matthew Slotkin, guitar) will be held on Thursday, March 11at 4:25 p.m. in Casadesus Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building at Binghamton University. They will be performing selections from the following pieces: ôNicht Akzeptiert, Sonatineö by George Daravelis, ôLes Trois Soeursö by Charles Stolte, ôBefore Clocks Cease Their Chimingö by Andrew Walters, ôUntitledö by Shane Endsley, ôFast, Cheap, and Out of Controlö by John Orfe, ôFace of the Moonö by Marilyn Shrude and ôMessengersö by John Anthony Lennon. Duo Montagnard was formed in 2002 and has performed over 130 concerts in 25 states, Canada, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Greece, Thailand, New Zealand, and Australia. Festival performances include the Chautauqua Institution, the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival, and the Alexandria Guitar Festival. Recent commissions include pieces by John Anthony Lennon, George Daravelis, John Orfe and Charles Stolte. This concert is free, open to the public, and co-sponsored by the Binghamton University Music Department and the Harpur College DeanÆs Visiting Speaker Series. |
