CONTINUING TAI CHI
Big Tent Cultural Center located at 2659 Main Street in Whitney Point, NY presents a new 8-week session of "Continuing Tai Chi" 8:00am to 9:00am, Wednesdays and Fridays from February 17th through April 9th. Students with previous Tai Chi experience will extend their practice of this ancient Chinese martial art, whose breathing and relaxation exercises improve balance, coordination and flexibility. About the Instructors: Stan Barrett and Nadia Rubaii-Barrett have been practicing and teaching various forms of martial arts for more than 30 years. For the past 12 years, they have focused on Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese martial art form of low impact, stretching, slow movement that increases the vital life energy, called Qi ("chee"). Stan Barrett, Ph.D, is a semi-retired educator, who teaches part-time at Suny Cortland and teaches Tai Chi at the Cortland YWCA. Nadia Rubaii-Barrett, Ph.D., is Chair of the Public Administration Department at Binghamton University.
