 2010 - The Binghamton Downtown Singers began in 1983, as an all-volunteer choral group, under the joint auspices of the Binghamton Downtown Forum and the Centenary United Methodist Church. In addition to the traditional holiday performance of Handel's Messiah, the group pesents a second major production during the spring. The group is the only volunteer, no audition, extended season, mixed choral group in the area. The Downtown Singers provide an educational experience and artistic outlet for partcipating members and satisfy a broad community demand for the performance of large-scale choral works. The Binghamton Downtown Sngers also provide the community with high quality musical entertainment at little or no cost. | |
